Lifecycle Policies

• To move a file to a different storage class, you can use S3 or EFS.

  • Both services have lifecycle policies.

• EFS can only transition a file to the IA storage class after 90 days.

• Using S3 Glacier expedited retrieval, you can quickly access your files within 1-5 minutes.

• Minimum storage duration is 30 days before you can transition objects from S3 Standard to S3 One Zone-IA or S3 Standard-IA.

• Standard, Standard Infrequent-Access, Intelligent-Tiering, One-Zone, Glacier.
