Geographies

  • The whole world is divided up into what Azure calls "geographies".

  • Geographies normally have 2 or more regions and it helps preserve data residency and compliance boundaries and compliance laws.

  • Geographies can withstand regional failures because they are built up of 2 or more regions.

  • For example, the UK is a geography and it has 2 regions (UK South and UK West):
