Azure Information Protection (AIP)

• Cloud-based solution that helps organizations classify and (optionally) protect its documents and emails by applying labels.

• Labels can be applied automatically (by administrators who define rules and conditions), manually (by users), or with a combination of both (where users are guided by recommendations).

• For example, your administrator might configure a label with rules that detect sensitive data, such as credit card information. Then, any user who saves credit card information in a Word file might see a tooltip at the top of the document with a recommendation to apply the relevant label for this scenario.
